Ayodele Arowosegbe's Crimson Clouds

Figures of speech, choice of language, grammatical structure and plot; yum! A reader’s delight! It is no longer the synopsis of Ayodele Arowosegbe’s Crimson Clouds is whetting my appetite already.

Synopsis

When a chance meeting throws two people from extreme worlds on the same lonely road on a dark night, an unlikely relationship is birthed. Sparks fly and the strong emotions created are nurtured into an intense, but fragile romance. But can this delicate love survive the tempest it is destined to be thrown into?

Crimson Clouds is a rollercoaster ride into the world of deceit, power, crime, politics and relationships. It is the story of two people who decide to fight for their right to love each other against all odds. In the process, they find themselves on a quest for justice and become the hope of a nation that wishes to bring evil-doers to justice.

It is simple in its depiction of corruption and injustice in a rapidly changing society. It also takes a look at the way these realities have influenced the interaction of this society with western societies, especially Europe.

While written with a political nuance and a plot that progresses fast, ‘Crimson clouds’ is ultimately a love story that explores love as it rises above difficult circumstances and triumphs in a world, turned upside down by greed and injustice.
